Our Mission
Every year, we hunt for the best deals on backpacks and school supplies and stock up as much as possible. Friends also donate items that help fill each bag to the brim. Every backpack is packed with hygiene essentials, school supplies, and fun surprises—hair bows and nail polish for some, a deck of cards or a small toy for others. Each child also receives a blanket, a stuffed animal, and a prayer that God will meet their needs and draw them to saving faith in Jesus. We fill every backpack as full as possible so each child feels loved and blessed.
Each fall, we load up our truck and a U-Haul trailer with backpacks and make the trip to Rosarito, Mexico. The truck and trailer can hold 400 backpacks, which we drop off at the ministry headquarters on the U.S. side of the border. From there, Ron and Kristy—missionaries serving in Mexico—carefully bring them across a few at a time until every backpack reaches the children who need them.
Ron and Kristy partner with neighborhood churches in Mexico to host joyful outreach events with local church plants. These gatherings are full of celebration—games, a piñata, a clear gospel message, and a new backpack for every child. Parents express deep gratitude, and the kids light up as they discover school supplies, a stuffed animal, toiletries, and other special surprises inside their very own backpack. The smiles say everything.
